At the same time intellect alone cannot provide the solution to many of our problems. Sometimes the intellect itself can create more problems because of the egoistic attitudes in the human mind. Kindness, sympathy, patience, tolerance, honesty and generosity also cannot stop certain problems because cunning and unscrupulous people can take advantage of such good qualities. Therefore we have to maintain good qualities wisely.
There are many good people who are affected by the amount of human misery in the world. For example we can look at the enormous amount of welfare work being done by many organizations. These social welfare workers are trying to reduce human problems but their contributions can reduce only certain problems.
One way they help to settle human problems is by distributing property and revenue of the country equally among the public. It seems that their method is also not very effective to settle human problems because selfishness, cunningness and many other shortcomings can upset the situation.
“A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends.” (Baltasar Gracian)
