Those who can remain cheerful during difficult times are admirable and a source of inspiration to others. They can avoid conflicts by seeing the lighter side of things. A wise man can avoid a quarrel by answering jokes and remarks directed at him with another joke. When people humiliate us we must learn how to face them gently by good humouredly neutralizing the joke.

Every person is responsible for making a better world by planting the seeds of patience, love and honesty deeply in the human heart. Eventually, a new era will blossom bringing benefit to his generation and the generations to come. It is a cultured person who knows how to face difficulties with sympathy and understanding. The mark of great people lies in how they face daily irritations with equanimity. Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.

Be patient with all. Anger leads one along a blind path. While it irritates and annoys others, it also hurts oneself. Anger weakens the physical body and disturbs the mind. A harsh word, like an arrow discharged from a bow, can never by retrieved even if you would offer a thousand apologies.

Certain creatures cannot see in the day-time whilst some others are blind at night. But a man driven to great heights of hatred does not observe anything, either by day or night.

With whom and with what do you flight when you are angry? You fight with your self. The mind is your best friend but it can easily become your worst enemy.

Some varieties of heart trouble, rheumatic disorders, and skin disease are traceable to chronic resentment, hatred and jealously. Such destructive feelings poison the heart. They foster the development of latent diseases by reducing the body’s natural defenses against disease microbes.
